FAQ

The mannUfactory is a place where all are welcome to explore and use the equipment we have. You can 3D print a project for a course, a competition, or to fix something in your home! Use legos to quickly prototype some or use our sewing machines to repair your favorite jeans. The mannUfactory is a place to test things out so don’t worry if you’ve never printed something on a 3D printer or used a soldering iron. We’re here to help walk you through the steps or work together to figure it out.

Please try to plan to print during the hours of operation for the mannUfactory. If those hours absolutely don’t work with your schedule, you can always book a consultation with one of our staff.

We are here to help you with your project but no one on staff is an expert in everything! We will help you find the right resources to answer your questions and help you think through strategies. We do not do your work for you.

At this time, we are unable to charge a bursar account. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards as form of payment.

We don’t want a lack of money to get in the way of your creativity! If paying for printing is a hardship, please talk with one of us and we can work something out. We might request that you teach a workshop in exchange for printing time.

Unfortunately, we don’t allow someone to bring in their own filament and paper. That said, we do take suggestions and if there is something that you’d like us to offer, we can purchase it for the space. Just send us an email with your recommendation: makerspace@cornell.edu

We love suggestions! You can tell someone at the helpdesk what you’d like us to buy or you can send it via email to: makerspace@cornell.edu
